this city will go out of its way to shoot itself in the foot culturally-speaking…including legislation to legalize a gun specific to just that purpose…filmmakers, storytellers, actors….just do what you love because you love doing it…eventually enough of us will start firing on all the right artistic and economic cylinders and then we can run off these pretend-cowboys with their own weapon…MONEY…just a thought…tried everything else….this could work….just saying

better yet, the next time the top five studio reps get on a plane and fly to your city (Denver) and offer to buy an old airport (stapleton) to move their entire domestic television production studios to (3 billion dollars a year), don’t respond “WE have high tech, we don’t need artists”…(Wellington Webb)…or maybe not….

I think we saw during the 2009 Presidential election that grassroot movements work. If artists mobilize and demand that their elected officials support this legislation, it will get passed. Call and write your Colorado reps. Elicit the support of friends and family. Explain to anyone who will listen why this legislation is needed, not just for Colorado’s fiscal health & well-being, but for all the artists who love Colorado sunshine and don’t want to re-locate permanently to smoggy L.A. or the smaller venue of New Mexico.
It’s a great that you’re tracking this issue on your blog. Maybe it will energize CO artists to shape their destiny at home, in beautiful Colorado.

this story in’t preachy….on the contrary, it’s anti preachy….it’s STOP LISTENING TO EVERYONE ELSE AND STOP LATCHING ONTO EVERY WORD OF WHAT ‘ARKANGELS’S’ CHARACTER GOD WOULD CALL “TABLOID HORSESHIT” (IN REFERENCING THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE), AND START MAKING YOUR OWN CHOICES. that’s what the story will say. make your own choices. stop waiting to be told by someone else, or what some ancient piece of literature tells you to do…your GOD put you on Earth to LIVE. DO that, YOURSELF.
